What are photodegradable materials?

Photodegradable materials are materials that chemically break down in sunlight. Most scientists are looking at plastics to be photodegradable, since it is chemically generated and we rely heavily on it. UV rays (ultraviolet light) are more effective at breaking down plastics than most other types of light, and since we get our UV rays from the sun, it’s helpful if plastics are photodegradable.
