What are the percentages of household wasted food in each of the large countries?

    Every year one third of food produced for human consumption spoils. This equates to 1.3 billion metric tonnes. Consumers in rich countries waste 222 million metric tonnes of food every year. Per capita Europeans and North Americans waste 209-253 pounds of food every year. In the UK 6.7 million tonnes of food is wasted a year. Americans waste 14% of their food purchases.
