What are PCB’s?

PCB is the acronym for a few different things, but I’m guessing since you put it in the category for chemicals you are talking about Polychlorinated Biphenyls.  These are a family of organic chemicals that were manufactured in the US from 1929 until they were banned from use in 1979.  They had a wide variety of uses such as insulators and additives to paint and oil, and if you check out the link you can see a more complete list.  PCB’s have been known to cause cancer as well as affect your nervous, immune, and reproductive systems which is why they were banned.  Some products made before 1979 may still have PCB’s in them.
