    PBDE stands for Polybrominated diphenyl ethers. They are organobomine compounds that are typically used as flame retardants. They have been used in a variety of products including building materials, electronics, furnishings, motor vehicles, airplanes, plastics, polyurethane foams, and textiles. Traces of PBDE has also been found in some food sources. The coumpound is considered to be rather harmful to humans as it reduces fertility and the rate of development.
