What are the most notorious acidic pollutants responsible for our problem with acid rain?

Hydrochloric and Sulfuric acid are both prevalent in the acid rain phenomenon. Both are generated from production and use of various fueled machinery and other products. Generally, not enough acid is dissolved into the rain droplets to cause any real damage, but over cities and populated areas the rain can become a low PH, due to these damaging particulates.
