One way people act to stop deforestation, and this one is relatively simple, is by not buying products that contain ingredients that support deforestation. For example, by not choosing to buy products that have palm oil (the endangered orangutans live in the rainforest habitat that needs these trees) you are saying you don’t suport the cutting down of these trees. Minimizing your carbon footprint is another small way to help. Another important way would buy to plant trees – lots of communites have tree planting projects in the neighborhood and you can rally more people to participate. As well as recycling and going paperless as much as you can.
Also, look for third-party certification logos on what you buy such as Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and Rainforest Alliance logo.
Some steps we can take to stop deforestation is to plant a tree, go paperless, recycle, bu recycled items, look for forest stewardship council (FSC) certification on wood and wood products and eat vegetarian meals. You can take a step further by making choices at work, home and stores. Don’t contribute to the problem, but be apart of making solutions. You can also join the sierra club to learn more about deforestation.
