Marine exhaust emissions are created when large diesel ships use fuel with high sulfur contents.

Marine exhaust emissions are emitted by ships. Many ships, including the mammoth cruise ships, run on bunker fuel. This fuel has a sulfur content 2,000 times higher than diesel fuel. Cruise ships also incinerate waste which emits known carcinogens, furans and dioxins in addition to a host of other toxins.
