Liquid cooled server systems use water to cool a rack of computers. In many situations, companies have servers or other hardware that need to be stored in the same room. Regular fans would not provide enough cooling so tubing, a pump and water are needed to cooling them off.
Computers need to be cooled in order to prevent overheating. The most efficient, and most drastic form of cooling is liquid cooling. Instead of using fans, a liquid-cooled heat sink will dissipate heat from unwanted areas much more efficiently. Google has recently renovated their server systems to be liquid cooled, saving them about mass amounts of money in energy costs. It is also an eco-friendly approach, using significantly less power, Icetope claims that liquid cooling has cut their energy costs by 93%!
