“Greenhouses protect crops from too much heat or cold, shield plants from dust storms and blizzards, and help to keep out pests. Light and temperature control allows greenhouses to turn inarable land into arable land, thereby improving food production in marginal environments.”
Greenhouses have allowed nurseries and really anyone to enjoy plants in the winter time and get a head start on the spring. Green houses have also helped farmers to continue to produce fresh fruits and veggies even during the winter months when the plants cannot be outside.
Greenhouses are typically rounded in shape and covered with plastic, although they can also be glass. They typically have fans for ventilation and heaters for the cold months. Shade clothes, or black mesh may be put over the top if the person wants to grow shade plants.
