What kind of gases, like, carbon dioxide, helium, methane. oxygen, nitrogen or what else
Oxygen and acetylene most commonly, but there are others used. See link.
It depends on the type of welding. Propane, gasoline, MAPP, and hydrogen can be used for gas welding, but the most common fuel is a mixture of oxygen and acetylene. Acetylene produces the hottest flame of any welding gas, so it is preferred for cutting or welding thicker objects. Ark welders use an inert or semi-inert “shielding” gas to keep unwanted gas and other particles from the welding area. Helium, argon, and carbon dioxide are most commonly used.
