“Fruits and vegetables classified as the “Dirty Dozen” are those that still contain high levels of pesticide even after they are washed. They tend to have softer skin that enables pesticides to be absorbed.

    The Dirty Dozen:

    Lettuce

    Potatoes

    Kale, Spinach, Collard Greens

    Celery

    Sweet Bell Peppers

    Strawberries

    Nectarines

    Peaches

    Apples

    Cherries

    Grapes (imported)

    Blueberries (domestic)

They best way to avoid such a high pesticide consumption is to buy the organic types of these foods.
