Rhinos are mainly poached for their horns, which have traditionally been used in medicine and is said to provide a cure for cancer, though there is no scientific evidence to support this claim. Rhino hunting is illegal in many countries, and they are often left dead with only their horns missing, which leads me to believe that the horn is the primary reason for poaching. In the past, they have been hunted as game for display and for their hide.
