Floating photovoltaic panels are solar panels that float on water. One problem with solar panels is that they take up a lot of space. So, researchers have devised a way to move them onto the ocean or other body of water.
Floating photovoltaic panels is a solar energy project designed by Solaris Synergy for the purpose of gathering energy from the sea. Solaris Synergy has announced that they intend to build a ‘large-scale floating concentrated photovoltaic array’ that would float on open water. The company has already built a smaller version of the project. The panels were designed to float on the sea because available land is becoming an increasingly harder to find.
