    Cash crops are crops grown to make money, like tobacco or cotton. Food crops are crops grown to create food, examples include corn, beans, rice, apples, etc.

    Now a days, other than tobacco, the world’s only real cash crops are illegal drugs like marijuana or poppy plants because they’re the only ones that can make money at continuous rate. These plants are grown on large farms and then shipped around the world, just like cotton and tobacco did after the settlement of North America.
