Environemntalist find themselves on both sides of the spectrum when it comes to electrid/gasoline hybrid cars and their batteries.
Some argue that their batteries cause a lot of pollution during production and disposal, and the need to possibly replace them before the life of the car is up. Other cons includes the possible safety problems during crashes related to the batteries.
Others argue that they emit 25-35% less than conventional cars, and that their battery problems have been, and are continuing to be, worked out. Also, some of the batteries used can be recycled, which greatly reduces their environmental impact.
