What are the environmental issues or concerns on the Karuma dam project in Uganda

Surprisingly, I can’t find any articles written on the environmental issues with the Karuma Dam.  As is the case with any dam though, the project will destroy a waterfall (in this case Bujagali Falls), and flood a massive amount of area.  The destruction of the waterfall will destroy microclimates in the spray zones and forever alter the composition of the Nile River, a river that hundreds of millions of people rely on.

The Nile already has 4 major dams built, and another one will further threaten the periodic flooding which is invaluable to the surrounding ecosystems.

Also, lets not forget that Uganda does not have enough money to fund this project.
