What are the environmental impacts of fiberglass versus real glass?

Fiberglass is made of tiny strands of glass but isn’t really used for the same things as conventional glass. It’s used mostly for insulation and making heat- and corrosion-resistant fabrics and high-strength fabrics. It is also used to make objects like bows and arrows, surfboards, etc. However, it is more durable than many materials used for similar purposes, for example, wood or aluminum window frames, making it the more environmentally-friendly choice in many cases.
