What are ecological plants?

    That’s not a term in common use. Ecology is the study of organisms’ interaction with each other and with their environment. A plant can be part of an ecological system, and can serve various roles. Most often, the role of plants in ecosystems are to provide the basic food source for animals. Even carnivores, which eat only animals, ultimately derive their energy from plants because the creatures that they consume must eat plants.
