What are ‘earth metals’?

Earth metals are elements that have metallic properties and are part of the second group on the periodic table. They are all alkaline and are very reactive because of their oxidation number of +2, so they don’t appear free in nature. The earth elements include beryllium, magnesium, calcium, strontium, barium, and radium.

I suppose you may mean “rare earth metals”. They are elements. See the link for an introduction and overview.

To expand on the rare earth meals, if thats what you meant in your question, there is currently a push to develop recycling initiatives for them.
