A disease cycle is a repetitive appearance of a disease, whereby new hosts of the disease are continually infected. For example, a disease cycle can occur between cows and calves, where the calves are infected by their mothers. What the disease cycle is and how it can be stopped depends largely on what type of disease it is and who or what the hosts of the disease are, whether plant, animal or human.
