What are the different parts of an atom?

All atoms are made up of protons, neutrons, and electrons. These particles are called subatomic particles. Protons and neutons make up the nucleus, the dense area at the center of an atom. Electrons exist in a cloud outside of the nucleus, moving around it continuously. Most atoms have the same number of protons and electrons. Protons have a postive charge and electrons have a negative charge, so the protons and neutrons attract each other.
