Both are intergovernmental institutions that support the world’s economic and financial order. While thay share many similiraties, each has a distinct purpose, goals, structure, and source of funding. The World Bank is primarily an economic development institution while the IMF oversees the global financial system of its member countries, maintaining an “orderly system of payments and receipts between nations.” To learn more in depth how they differ click here http://www.imf.org/external/pubs/ft/exrp/differ/differ.htm
