Overfishing of species high on the food chain like tuna fish has allowed species lower on the food chain to increase to greater numbers because of the lack of a predator to control its growth. This has led to overgrowth of species lower on the food chain like jellyfish. Some of these species may wreck havoc on the vegetation in the ocean and other species by taking away their space, food and resources.
