First off, ethanol fuel is renewable and a lot of it can be grown right here at home which reduces our need on foreign nations. Also, using ethanol reduces the number of greenhouse gases that are let into the air. It reduces GHGs as much as 46%. Ethanol is also cheaper to refine then gasoline and other fuels. Now ethanol production is almost to the point where it can come from the scraps of plants with cellulosic ethanol technology.
