Bats are grouped into two main groups — Megabats and the Microbats. Megabats usually eat fruit or drink nectar from flowers, while microbats eat mostly insects, fish, lizards, and birds. Since some bats are known for eating worms, it would be safe to assume that microbats are the ones that eat on the ground. Some bats that are classified as microbats include the Spotted Bat, Mexican Free-tailed Bat, Bumblebee Bat, Spear Nosed Bat, Inland Forest Bat, Northern Free Tailed Bat, and the Orange Leaf-Nosed Bat.
