Aflatoxins are toxic metabolites made by fungi in or on foods and livestock feeds. They are intensively researched due to their impact and strong associations with various diseases found among livestock, domestic animals, and humans worldwide. Aflatoxins can be found in peanuts (and thus peanut butter) and corn.
