It is smaller and stockier than the Grant’s gazelle. It has a more boldly patterned coat and shorter horns. It’s diet is pretty much opposite that of a Grant’s gazelle, since a Thompson gazelle will eat mainly grass, and will turn to shrubs and forbs when grass is not available.
This type of gazelle is very water dependent and favors grass in there diet. It is small compared to the grants gazelle.
