Anti-inflammatories reduce inflammation. Anti-inflammatory drugs are often divided into different groups. There are steroids, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs, which include aspirin and ibuprofen), and other drugs. Anti-inflammatories can even include ice!
Inflammation is believed to be the cause of many ills: excess weight, diabetes, skin breakouts such as acne. To combat inflammation, proper nutrition is key. This includes a diet of health fats: olive oil and salmon; fruits: blueberries and cherries; and greens. Certain spices are known as anti-inflammatory, as well, especially turmeric and ginger.
