It is difficult to determine which animals are most determined by air pollution, since they can’t directly answer our questions. However, air pollution affects the lungs, so animals with rapid breathing rates are most likely to be affected. This means that birds and other small animals are going to be more quickly affected than larger animals. During an air pollution disaster in Poza Rica, Mexico, 100% of the local canary population disappeared.
Great point about the rapid breathing. Also animals that exert more energy, maybe animals that run a lot.
