Many of the 22 species listed by the Endangered Species Preservation Act (1966) are still on the list. The Black Footed Ferret, the Laysan Duck, the Florida Panther, the Puerto Rican Parrot, and the Key Deer among others. One of the species, the Ivory Billed Woodpecker, is still listed as endangered even though there have been no confirmed sightings of the bird since 1944.
