    Hummingbirds have the fastest heartbeat in the world.  Their hearbeats 1200 times a minute.  The smaller the hummingbird the faster the heart beat.  The fastest ever was 80 beats per second being recorded on the tiny Amethyst Woodstar.

    Hummingbirds have the fastest heartbeat of any animal in the world. They beat at a rate of over 1200 beats per minute. Smaller hummingbirds have faster heartbeats-the fastest recorded was 80 beats per second (4800 per minute).
