The largest geothermal power plant in the world is “The Geysers” in northern California. It was first drilled in 1924 and continues to operate to this day. The Geyser’s are actually 22 different plants with a combined output of 750 megawatts. California produces about 90% of America’s geothermal energy.
There is a project in Indonesia to create the world’s largest single plant, with a production ov about 300 megawatts.
