Meteorologists observe and study the atmosphere to forecast the weather. This can include just the temperatures of the coming days, rain, snow, tornadoes, and other big weather changes. Meteorology includes environmental science, technology like satellites and supercomputers, and is often combined with scientists in other areas to learn more about issues like climate change, the formation of hurricanes, the impact of weather on ecosystems.
Many meteorology departments at universities also include Atmospheric Science research. Atmospheric science incorporates meteorology to understand weather and climate, as well as to predict future conditions due to climate patterns and climate change.
