The air quality index is a measure of the amount of pollution in the air at a certain location. How it is created from pollution concentration data varies from location to location.
You can check the AQI for where you live on the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) Website. It will give warnings when it isn’t safe to go outside, or if you shouldn’t go out if you have asthma.
