What age should we start having environmental studies classes?

In a debate that I have with a lot of people who are working for the environment, I don’t think it’s necessary to have environmental studies classes. What is necessary is to have parents and teachers be responsible in teaching children in everyday classes and situations that their actions have impact, often at the expense on the environment. It means recycling when you’re done with something, reusing art supplies and other materials, and consuming less overall. It’s important to stress that we’re all in this together and all of our actions matter. If we make the children aware of their impact on the world, we can have them be much more responsible than any environmental studies class could teach them.
