The Nissan Leaf is going to be priced at about $25,000 and go up to 100 miles on a single charge. Nevertheless, this does not include the major amount of money that you will save by not using gas. Electric fill-ups are very cheap, comparatively.
Well that depends on how you define affordable. I think what you have to look for when looking at electric cars is what you are getting for your money. There is the Triac, a three wheeled car from Green Vehicles that is selling at $20 000. It can get up to 70 mph on the highway and has a range of about 120 miles. It all depends on what you want in a car and what you are willing to spend.
What do you consider affordable? Affordable for one person may be $10,000 while for another it may be $30,000. Cheap doesn’t always mean bargain and expensive doesn’t always mean better.
