Aerial reforestation is when seeds are dropped over an area to replant that vegetation there.  It is often used where traditional forestation is hard such as barren deserts, inaccessible mountain sides, war-ravaged areas and wetlands.  While on plane ride can drop as many has 100,000 seeds, it is still very expensive and only has a success rate of about 70%.  Its advantage is that it can drop far more seeds than any one many or group of men.
