“Acid Test” is a documentary on the effects of carbon pollution on our oceans. Nearly a quarter of all carbon dioxide pollution is absorbed by ocean water, and this makes the water more acidic. Sigourney Weaver narrated the film which explains the effect of increased acidity. Ocean acidity has increased approximately 30% from the time of the Industrial Revolution, and this increase causes a decrease in carbonate, the main component of shells. Thus, organisms are unable to adequately grow their shells. The negative consequences of this are numerous, as you may imagine. Please see the following article for more information.
