Yes, frogs first came into existence during the Triassic Period more than 200 million years ago. They probably share similar ancestors with the dinosaurs since reptiles and amphibians are closely related. They were most likely able to survive the massive extinction that claimed the dinosaurs because of their diminutive stature. Although most species have probably evolved in some form since then, frogs have remained virtually unchanged for millions of years, making them one of the oldest families of organisms on the planet.
