we live in the high desert so.ca. there were about 200 or more hawks flying over.do they migrate and if so where?

    The term “hawk” applies to several species of bird. The Hawk Migration Association of North America has a site that lists all the species considered to be hawks who migrate. There are a good number who do, so my guess is that if you do not normally see that number of hawks in the area, they are likely migrating.

    As for where they migrate, it depends a bit on the species. Most hawks typically migrate in general north-south patterns, but as for exact locations, it depends on a lot of factors.
