Yes. Wildlife is definitely hurt by conventional sources of energy like coal or natural gas, as burning these fuels contribute to global warming which poses a risk to many species. And power lines for all forms of energy often pass through ecosystems that species depend on for nourishment. One form of energy that doesn’t hurt wildlife is small-scale solar panels that provide energy to the building it is located on, as this doesn’t require transmission lines. The reason people are worried about the birds is because it is a very direct way of killing animals. This shouldn’t make a difference, but for many it does anyway.
