My first answer was no. Then, thinking about it, it depends on what type of waste. If you’re talking about incinerating trash, that’s not the best green energy source. Especially if you consider all the chemicals that some people inadvertently toss in their trash. And incinerating trash can still create pollutants like CO2 SO2 NOx and more. However, if you’re talking about using waste-heat from a manufacturing process to generate power, then it’s a good use. Similarly if a by-product of manufacturing is something like methane or ethanol, its much better to capture it and use it to produce more electricity than let it escape.
