Although Ronald Regan called himself an environmentalist, the fact is that he rarely addressed the issue of the environment in the political realm. His minor interactions with environmental policy while in office are negative. For instance, he favored big business over the environment when it came to acid rain, dismissing the importance of the issue int he 1980s.
