Is War considered an environmental disaster?

Whether or not someone considers a war to be an environmental disaster is merely semantics. The fact of the matter is, even if it’s not recognized as such, war has a deleterious effect on the environment of the countries it is fought in. It disturbs and destroys ecosystems which happens to contribute to rises in cancer and infectious diseases that they’ve found in Iraq. Areas are destroyed, fossil fuels are consumed, and military occupation greatly consumes resources. By all accounts, war is in fact an environmental disaster.
