Sunscreen with SPFs greater than 100 is unnecessary. According to the NY Times article link below, all sunscreens need to be reapplied every two hours. Even then, the SPF difference between sunscreens with SPF of 50 and 100 is marginal. SPF 100 blocks 99% of ultraviolet-B rays while SPF 50 blocks 98% of ultraviolet-B rays. High SPF is just unneeded, and reapplication of sunscreen and proper coverage should be a greater concern.
