Propane burns relatively cleaner compared to other hydrocarbons, so if your gas stove or outdoor grill uses propane, you’d be pretty eco friendly with your cooking. However, an electric burner, while it doesn’t burn fuel in your home, has the potential to harm the environment depending on what type of power your area uses. If you live in an area that uses clean or renewable energy sources or practices, an electric stove may not be as good for the environment,
As for the other kind of “better,” I usually prefer a gas stove in terms of heat distribution, and you don’t have to wait for it to get hot. Having one despite the dangers associated with a gas stove, like leaks, are of course up to the individual.
