Is using a charcoal grill bad for the environment?

Apparently using charcoal grills is bad for the environment because tiny bits of polyunsaturated fatty acids are released into the environment. In Houston, Texas, this was apparently increasing air pollution, but when compared to machines and cars, the fraction of pollution that results from cooking with charcoal grills is definitely smaller.
