Is unemployment bad for the environment?

No, actually many people consider unemployment to be a positive thing for the economy. Usually recessions are what cause unemployment, and recessions are a natural part of the business cycles that economies go through. When unemployment is higher, the general public is not as wealthy, or does not make as much money because people don’t have jobs. This in turn reduces private consumption of goods, thus reducing production in the market and preserving the natural resources that go into making the goods.
