Environmental issues, including climate change, are problems that the United Nations certainly take into consideration. There is the UN Climate Change Conference, which first took place in 1992, and the next of which is scheduled for this upcoming October. The treaty, however, does not set standards for carbon emissions of individual countries, and is legally non-binding for each nation.
