Detergent enters the water cycle through seepage into ground water. At the time that it enters the water cycle, everything that is part of the water cycle is affected. Soil is part of the water cycle, because water falls from the sky as precipitation and some of it stays in the soil as moisture, and some of its strains through the soil back into the ground water. When a pollutant enters the water cycle at any stage, all parts of its are impacted.
